Sailing in Style Aboard the AmaDara
When we decided to explore Southeast Asia, the Charms of the Mekong itinerary felt like the perfect introduction. After a 19-hour flight, we added pre- and post-cruise stays to truly immerse ourselves. Although I travel frequently, visiting destinations where language and customs were unfamiliar gave me pause - making AmaWaterways the obvious choice. It offered peace of mind while still delivering an authentic experience.
Our journey led us from vibrant Ho Chi Minh City through the Mekong Delta’s floating villages and lush landscapes, into the cultural heart of Phnom Penh, and onward to Siem Reap and the breathtaking Angkor temples. Along the way, we enjoyed remarkable cuisine, met warm locals, and discovered traditions shaped over centuries.
From bustling markets to serene riverside sunrises, this journey was nothing short of extraordinary.
