The most beautiful beaches in Germany:

Bensersiel – Lower Saxony

This fine powdered, white sand beach is ideal for families to build sandcastles, walk along the beach, rent a beach chair, collect shells and swim in the North Sea.


Wyk of Föhr – Schleswig-Holstein

The beach is divided in four segments and is altogether about 15 km long. Three of the beaches are also for nudists and allow dogs. The beach also has lifeguards and is ideal for families with children. Volleyball courts, playgrounds and surf and sail schools are also available.

Heiligenhafen – Schleswig-Holstein

Sections on this 4 km sand beach and dune area are ideal for nudist lovers and there are also sections dedicated to your four-legged friends. Couples find solitude in the many quiet spots or at a beach walk, kids love to build sand castles and who doesn’t love a beach party. Lifeguards are also on site.

Kniepsand in Amrum – Schleswig-Holstein

This is not really a beach but a sandbank that wanders around the island. An ideal place for sunbathing and playing in the sand. Here, you find the beach cottages that are exclusively build from material found on the beach. Overnight stays in these huts is not permitted.

Rügen – Mecklenburg-Vorpommern

Sellin offers an amazing white sandy beach for the whole family and an amazing pier. The water is usually clean and clear. Spectacular sunrises can be watched here and sunsets on other locations near by.


Scharbeutz – Schleswig-Holstein

Besides sandbathing and swimming, this is an ideal place to learn surfing, stand-up paddling or for a long walk along the beach.


St Peter Ording – Schleswig-Holstein

This is one of the best-known beaches at the North Sea. 12 km long and 2 km wide is ideal for everyone: nudists, dog lovers and the barrier-free beaches are welcomed by guests with mobility issues. This is also a great spot to watch surfers and kite-surfers.


Sylt – Schleswig-Holstein

With 40 km beach, everyone can find their piece of paradise. Most guests are generally tolerant when it comes to nudist beach, dog beach that all kind of mash up together without clear boundaries.

Timmendorfer Strand & Niendorf – Schleswig Holstein

There is lots to do and see at the 7 km sandy beach. From surfing, diving, beach volleyball, a section dedicated to your four-legged friends to a nudist beach and lots of entertainment. Shops, boutiques and restaurants line the promenade.

Usedom – Mecklenburg-Vorpommern

This sun-drenched island offers 40 km of beaches along the Baltic Coast. Stretching from the border with Poland, the seaside resorts of Ahlbeck, Heringsdorf and Bansin all the way to . Here you will find wide sandy beaches, restaurants, spas, villas; and if you are lucky, you can also hear the sand sing.
